Tongue-tied

Last night I saw the world
unfurl in the mirror before me.
I saw its sphere appear in the
open ‘O’ of my mouth, felt the
weight of all things possible
on the tip of my tongue,
so close I could taste the
rivers as they run, the stars
and the sun, the present,
past and future as one
bite away from being my own.
